I've been posting once a week for almost a year now and definitely needed that break not only to process some of the "stuff" going on in my life but also to give me more space in the studio. It's been good and although I'm not ready to return to posting five times, I'm thinking twice a week could be doable - Wednesday and Friday. I'll try that for the next several weeks and see how it goes. Let me know what you think.

I am REALLY enjoying my current big project of working through the potential boxes. The overall goal is stretching and each individual project is a learning experience. I'm working on a little girl's coat and found the direction I was taking too predictable so I challenged myself to find a piece of inspiration to take forward. Above left is a sample inspired by the knit and crochet sleeve above right. I think it may become the collar.

The coat is the second child sized garment that I've successfully used serger strips on and it's time to take that idea adult. Yesterday, I turned a pair of jeans into strips. Some of them will be for the little coat and the rest - along with some serger "fabric" made back in April for a project gone wrong - will be for a Myrna coat. Ideas are dancing around in my mind. This is one of the huge benefits of the potential project.

Don't you love this stool? Imagine me sitting on it and all of us having a brainstorming session together. I've mentioned that I'm going to update the blog in the (relatively) near future. I want to do a good job so right now, I'm working my way through two books on creative blogging, one on making videos, and one on taking better photographs. I've been working to improve the quality of my photographs and I think that's coming along fairly well. Again, please let me know what works and what doesn't and what could become a consistent style (that doesn't require special equipment) such as always taking the photographs against the same white background. AND...
... I would love to hear what you think makes a fabulous blog and if you have a favourite blog please link us to it so we can see your thoughts in action. If there's something I do really well that you think it's important to maintain, please let me know. Likewise, if there's something I'm not doing well and could improve, please let me know that too. Obviously, I won't be able to incorporate every bit of advice but I'd like to hear what you have to say so I can give it some thought and see where that takes me when making updates.
